PFP Background
FMM was appointed as the Local Focal Point for the Malaysian-Danish
Partnership Facility Programme in Malaysia for 2006
to 2007. The Partnership Facility Programme (PFP) was
initiated in 1996 by the Danish Cooperation for Environment
and Development, an agency of the Danish Ministry of
Environment.
The overall objective of PFP is to contribute to reducing
poverty through facilitating improvements in the environment.
The improvements in the environment can be achieved
through the transfer of technology and know-how from
the Danish environmental sector to cooperating partner
companies in Malaysia. The PFP will support long-term
sustainable partnership to contribute to a better environment
in this country. The partnership should be commercially
viable and has a specific and measurable positive environmental
impact. In this regard, the Malaysian-Danish partners
are expected to enter into long-term and mutually binding
cooperation.
The priority areas of PFP include the following:
• Waste and emission treatment, including
waste management.
• Renewable energy and energy efficiency including
renewable energy production, distribution
& energy management.
• Cleaner technologies and production.
• Environmental audit and management systems
including IT systems.
